Under the motto ‘Strength in Unity’ MH Bland prides itself on the unity not only as a family company but also in the unity of its staff and with the people we do business with.

Throughout our long history, the directors and staff of MH Bland have never failed to be at the forefront of community life on the Rock and have been committed for over 200 years to do good in all it’s areas of activities. These are but a few of the projects over the years:

By establishing a Charity Committee, the directors and staff aim be able to continue to support many worthy causes focusing our efforts on areas that reflect our integrity, strengthens our ties to the community and demonstrates our commitment to doing good.

Tablita Fest 2024

Join us on Thursday 19th September from 7pm until 9pm at Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club for a night of Tablita fun. The price will be £30 per team of 2, this will include a welcome drink and snack. The bar and Kitchen will be open to purchase additional drinks and snacks.

It was with great pleasure that members of the MH Bland Doing Good Charity Committee and Alison Gabay from Stick it Sarcoma, presented a cheque for £3500 to Giovanella Viñales from Cancer Research Gibraltar on the 26/04/2022.

Mayor of Gibraltar runs Half Marathon in support for The EV Foundation 2022

MH Bland donated £200 to His Worship the Mayor of Gibraltar, Mr Christian Santos GMD in his support for The EV Foundation. They ran the 21km Via Verde de la Sierra Half Marathon on Sunday 1st May 2022.

Quiz Night in aid of Kabir Ramchandani Foundation in April 2022

On Thursday 7th April, the MH Bland Doing Good Committee hosted their annual quiz in aid of the Kabir Ramchandani Foundation. It was an honour to be able to collect £1800 for this worthy cause which sits close to the hearts of several members of the committee.

Lisbon to Gibraltar Charity Cycle october 2020

On the 7th October 2020 a team of Gibraltar cyclists set off on their challenge of cycling 600km from Lisbon to Gibraltar in just 4 days, in aid of Autism Support Gibraltar and Action Aid.

MH Bland were proud to sponsor two of the riders flights from Malaga to Lisbon. To date (14/10/20) the riders have managed to raise £5000.

Clean Up The World 2020

18 teams worked hard at 14 sites removing harmful waste from our environment. Underwater, coastal, open water, green, communal and revetment hotspots were tackled and saw 12 truckloads of waste head to the dedicated waste tips.

Care Agency Mattress Donation Logistics 2020

On 24th June 2020, MH Bland were proud to have assisted in the logistics surrounding the donation of 50 mattresses from Stena Drillship via Transcoma Shipping agents Gibraltar. Big thank you to Brain Pizarro, Logistics Manager at MH Bland Marine Services for coordinating the logistics surrounding the donation.

Charity Day Trip to Tangier 5th Edition 2019

In December 2019, MH Bland sponsored a team of 16 volunteers who travelled to Tangier to support the Sisters of Charity home. The group, comprised of employees and members of the Mother Teresa Group, delivered 30 suitcases of essential supplies generously donated by the Gibraltarian community. This was our 5th trip since 2017, embodying Mother Teresa’s words: “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.

Childline Sponsored Bus December 2019

In November 2019, MH Bland proudly unveiled the third Childline awareness bus as part of the Calypso Tours fleet. This initiative aims to raise awareness of Childline’s vital support for children in need. The bus, seen across Gibraltar, serves as a mobile reminder that help is always available.

Notre Dame School Cable Car Visit December 2019

On the 29th November we welcomed pupils and staff of Notre Dame school at the Cable Car for a ride to the Top of the Rock. After exploring the Top Station terraces they were then greeted at the Mons Calpe Suite for healthy drinks and snacks! We hope they enjoyed their visit as much as we enjoyed having them.

Cable Car Gibraltar Reduces Plastic Footprint 2019

Cable Car Gibraltar has received three environment awards for their efforts in reducing the use of plastic at their Top Station.

Presented by The Nautilus Project on Friday, 12th July 2019, awards were given for ‘Plastic for Paper’, ‘Cut the Cutlery’ and ‘Paws off Straws’.

Well Done Nathan 2019

Last month, MH Bland sponsored Nathan Villalba, son of a MHB employee, to support his participation in the World Dance Cup Finals in Portugal.

We are delighted to announce that Nathan achieved 3rd place in both his solo and group performances. He has also secured a scholarship to attend the Wayne McGregor Dance Studio in London in December 2019.

Last month, twenty members of staff took part in the annual MH Bland Charity Stepathon 4 week challenge.

Jimmy Grech, from the IT department emerged victorious by completing an incredible total of 534,229 steps. Jimmy donated his £600 winners cheque to his charity of choice, Cancer Relief Gibraltar.

MH Bland Doing Good is proud to have supported Lizzie, Ella, and Lenaya, children of our staff, in their sporting and dance endeavors. The talented trio received a total of £500 to help them excel. Lizzie represented Gibraltar in volleyball, Ella and Lenaya competed in the Barcelona Dance Awards. Congratulations to them all!

Nicola is part of the Gibraltar International Dance Association (GIDA) who will represent Gibraltar at the World Dance Championships in Croatia this May. Walk to the Top of the Rock 2018

What started as a small company walk in 2005 has evolved into a beloved community event raising thousands for Cancer Research UK. Hundreds now participate in this bi-annual challenge, with MH Bland and Deloitte joining forces since 2015.

Mother Teresa Visits to Tangier 2017

In 2017, MH Bland partnered with the Mother Teresa Group to support the Sisters of Charity Home in Tangier. Since then, we’ve made three trips, delivering essential supplies like clothes, nappies, and toys, and spending precious time with the children. Witnessing their joy has been incredibly rewarding. Beyond supplies, we’ve also donated larger items like a fridge. This partnership has fostered a strong bond between Gibraltar and the Sisters of Charity Home.

Clean up the World 2017

On 21st September 2017 a team of staff gathered at the base station of the Cable Car with pickers and bin bags. The group then travelled up by Cable Car to the Top Station where they spent the course of the afternoon spread across the areas surrounding the Top Station, collecting rubbish, found in bushes, on the floor and within historical sites.
