JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Accounts Administrator
LEVEL: 2
COMPANY: MH Bland & Co Ltd
DEPARTMENT: Accounts Port Agency
REPORTS TO: Deputy Marine Finance Manager


PURPOSE:

Responsible for the administration of the sales/purchases/reporting and accounting functions of their particular company/operation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day requirements of MHB Shipping as per the previous level
  • Produce Cruise liner & more complex DAs and relevant paperwork/online forms
  • Reconcile cash received and post in SAP
  • Process/issue advance payments & Credit Notes
  • Process DA's via client online systems - MXP, Harbour Lab, etc
  • Responsible for payment schedule & processing through to reconciliation stage
  • Assist with debt collecting
  • Checking & sending all types of DA’s
  • Checking and understanding cruise liner manifests
  • Fully understand the company/operation accounting practices and apply this knowledge to streamline procedures
  • Simple balance sheet reconciliations
  • KPIs input & Controls
  • Depreciation
  • Reports to Senior

In addition to the above, the jobholder will be required to perform other duties which may be assigned by the Manager/Directors from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Mathematics and English)
  • Strong numerical and mathematical skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written)
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proficient in English & Spanish (essential)
  • Computer literate and experience in using Microsoft Office (preferred)
  • Good problem-solving skills
