JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Shore Excursion Agent
COMPANY: Calypso Excursions Ltd.
DEPARTMENT: Calypso Excursions
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
PURPOSE:
Organising and preparing all aspects of the company’s shore excursions program and Calypso daily operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with senior members of the team in creating new tours for the Shore Excursion Program.
- Daily monitoring of operations and bookings to ensure sufficient capacity and resources can be met.
- Ensure booking system is kept up to date.
- Organise and prepare all matters relating to the Shore Excursions Program and Calypso Tours with daily operations.
- Maintain high quality of service for all products provided by the department.
- Work closely with the Transport Manager and operations team.
- Collaborate with the Accounts department with regards to invoicing, wages, and all other accounting matters.
- Deal with incoming reservations, correspondence, and customer enquiries.
- Ensure passenger statistics are kept up to date.
- Deal with subcontractors in the absence of the Operations & Transport Managers.
- Carry out shore excursions for cruise vessels and prepare excursion programs.
- Plan, prioritise and allocate drivers and tour guides for daily operations.
- Prepare ticketing for daily excursions and ensure all payments are collected.
- Ensure tourist sites are available to be visited and notify the tourist board, venues, and other suppliers.
- Attend familiarisation trips and events to better understand the product when developing or presenting new excursions.
In addition to the above, the jobholder will be required to perform other duties which may be assigned by the directors from time to time.

In carrying out all the above, the jobholder will always adhere to ISO9001 objectives and will comply with all departmental and company requirements, procedures and policies as stated in the Quality Manuals. A clear understanding of the Quality Manuals and Work Instructions is essential. At all times, the jobholder should operate in the interests of the company and its customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Educated to bachelor’s degree level (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism or Hospitality Management (advantageous)
- Previous experience as a Shore Excursion Agent (advantageous)
- Previous experience in Event Bookings and/or operations (advantageous)
- Sales experience (advantageous)
- Travel experience and knowledge of ports and tours.
- Must be assertive, decisive, and able to take immediate action when necessary
- Must be professional
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be proficient in English and Spanish; knowledge of additional languages (advantageous)
- Must hold of clean driving licence Class “A” and/or “B”
- Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
