The Port of Barcelona has a 2,000-year history and is one of Europe’s most important Mediterranean ports. It is Spain’s third-largest container port by volume and ranks as Europe’s third most productive port in terms of container traffic. Together with Tarragona to its south, it forms Catalonia’s largest port complex and is managed by the Port Authority of Barcelona.
The port is divided into three main zones: Port Vell (the Old Port), the commercial and industrial port, and the logistics port known as the Barcelona Free Port. The industrial area, located to the south, includes the Zona Franca—a tariff-free industrial park developed within the port to boost its logistics capabilities.
MH Bland opened its Port Agency in Barcelona in 2016. As in all our locations, we have built a strong team of experienced and well-trained professionals, dedicated to delivering the highest level of service and supporting our clients’ needs wherever and whenever required.
