Las Palmas Port General Information

Strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, Africa
and the Americas, the Port of Las Palmas is one of the most important maritime hubs in the Mid-Atlantic and a key operational centre for international shipping. Its position along major Atlantic trade routes have established it as a leading port for cargo distribution, bunkering, offshore support and vessel services.

The port combines significant import and export activity with a comprehensive range of marine services, including ship repair, technical
support, supplies and bunkering operations. Las Palmas is recognised as one of the Atlantic’s principal bunkering hubs, supplying approximately 1.5 million tonnes of fuel annually to vessels transiting the region.

Las Palmas is also the leading container port in the Canary Islands and West Africa region, handling close to 600,000 TEUs annually. Its modern facilities support container traffic, general cargo, bulk cargo, RoRo

operations and offshore activity, while its extensive ship repair capabilities can accommodate everything from commercial vessels and offshore units to super tankers and private yachts.

The port has long been an established destination for cruise liners and ferry services, handling more than one million passengers each year across both tourism and inter-island traffic. It is also home to the largest marina in the Canary Islands, with capacity for approximately 850 berths, supporting a vibrant yachting and leisure sector.

As a major logistics and distribution centre for the Canary Islands and the wider Atlantic region, Las Palmas offers vessel operators excellent connectivity, year-round operational reliability and a full range of maritime support services.
